LEE CLEAVELAND

Lee Cleaveland is a professional musician, filmmaker, actor, and stage manager and a proud member of the Actors Equity Association. Lee graduated from Michigan State University in spring 2018 where he double majored in B.F.A. Acting and B.A. Media & Information (Film, TV, & Radio Production) with a Minor in Musical Theatre.

Born missing his left arm below the elbow, Lee is a congenital amputee whose drive and tenacity is unmatched. Growing up with one arm has taught Lee to become a relentlessly hard worker and creative problem solver. Lee often wears a mind controlled bionic and gave a 2017 TEDx talk  about his experiences as an amputee and the research conducted by Michigan State University in the revolutionary field of 3D printing artificial limbs.

 A multi-instrumentalist, Lee is a session and touring musician that plays 10 instruments and has most frequently worked as a guitar, trumpet, and bass player in musical theatre orchestra pits for 7+ years. He also is a freelance composer and singer/songwriter whose music has been featured in feature films, independent shorts, plays, and podcasts. Currently, Lee is the frontman of the Detroit rock & roll band Lee Cleaveland & The Lefthand Band.

Lee has worked as a professional actor in Michigan regional theatre, film, and radio since 2005 and is represented by Productions Plus - Detroit and The iGroup.

With 6 years stage management experience, Lee is currently the equity stage manager for the Jewish Ensemble Theatre in Walled Lake, MI.

As a filmmaker, Lee has directed, produced, and script supervised a handful of independent short films and industrial films and has worked as a Production Assistant on various TV shows and documentaries for Netflix, Quibi, and CBS as well as commercials for clients such as Ford, Wayne State University, and Salesforce.
